Cuba participates as an Observer Parliament in the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary General Assembly (AIPA)

Kuala Lumpur, September 18, 2025. Cuba, as an Observer Parliament, is participating in the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary General Assembly (AIPA), being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, until September 21.

The event provided the Cuban diplomatic representation accredited in the country, the interesting opportunity to exchange with parliamentarians from Brunei, country that is one of its concurrencies, and also with the parliamentarian delegation from the Philippines, in the session promoting women's participation in governance.

Cuban Embassy participates in Malaysian Independence Day celebration

Putrajaya, August 31. Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández and the Consul of the largest of the Antilles, Octavio J. Rodríguez García, participated with the Malaysian people in the celebration of ¡Hari Merdeka! Independence Day.

Malaysia celebrates its National Day on August 31st, having achieved independence from British colonialism in 1957.

The main event is the National Day Parade, which includes demonstrations by the armed forces, a parade of representatives from the country's various productive sectors, performances by music bands, and allegorical dances.

Cuba and Malaysia promote collaboration in the tropical fruit sector

KUALA LUMPUR, August 19. It was a pleasure to welcome Mr. Muhamed Salim bin Mohd Ali, Executive Director of the International Tropical Fruit Network (TFNet), to the Cuban Embassy in Malaysia.

The exchange provided an opportunity to explore potential partnerships in the tropical fruit sector.

Mr. Salim discussed the work of the International Tropical Fruit Network (TFNet) and key areas of potential collaboration, including:

• Improving fruit quality for export

• Plant breeding and introduction of new fruit varieties
