Kuala Lumpur, June 12, 2025. The non-resident Cuban Ambassador to the Philippines, Yadira Ledesma Hernández, had the pleasure of participating in the reception held for the 127th anniversary of the country's independence.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps, local authorities, and members of the Filipino community in Malaysia gathered at the event, where they enjoyed artistic performances and culinary displays showcasing Filipino culture.

The occasion was an opportunity to demonstrate the interest in continuing to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.

Kuala Lumpur, June 11, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Yadira Ledesma Hernández, had the opportunity to meet with His Excellency Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia and a prominent figure in Malaysian politics and the Asian region.

Dr. Mahathir recalled Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and their contributions to forging ties of friendship between Malaysia and Cuba.

The Cuban ambassador, for her part, conveyed to the Malaysian leader the admiration of the Cuban people and government.

Promising exchange on sports cooperation between Cuba and Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur, June 10, 2025. Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández held a fruitful meeting with the Sports Advisor of the State of Sarawak, Mr. N. Chan.

The meeting recognized the international prestige of Cuban sports, its athletes and coaches, and the numerous Olympic and world medals won by athletes from the largest of the Antilles.

Both parties agreed on the potential for developing future cooperation projects in sports.

Kuala Lumpur, June 9—The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Yadira Ledesma Hernández, met with the Chairman of the Special Select Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Malaysian Parliament, the Honorable Wong Chen.

The occasion was an opportune moment to discuss the historic ties of friendship between the two countries, which celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.

The Cuban ambassador commented on the intense legislative work being carried out by the Cuban parliament to provide the country with greater institutionalization.
