The humanitarian work of Cuban medical cooperation was recognized in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, April 2nd, 2025. The Cuba-Malaysia Friendship Association (FOCA), sent a letter to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) expressing recognition of the extraordinary humanitarian work carried out by Cuban medical cooperation throughout the world.

Regarding the work of Cuban health workers, the members of the Association expressed admiration and gratitude, highlighting that Cuba is an example of internationalism and solidarity.

The Cuba-Malaysia Friendship Association reaffirms its solidarity with Cuba

Kuala Lumpur, March 27, 2025. Cuban Ambassador Ms. Yadira Ledesma Hernández held a pleasant and frank exchange with members of the Cuba-Malaysia Friendship Association (FOCA).

The meeting was propitious to share experiences from the Association's 15 years of existence, reaffirm their solidarity with Cuba, and their desire to continue strengthening their ties with the Caribbean nation through culture and mutual respect.

The Cuban representative reiterated the appreciation to FOCA for its work and their proven friendship with the Cuban people.

Kuala Lumpur, March 23, 2025. The local cultural project "International Rueda de Casino," Cuban residents in Malaysia, and the Ambassador and Consul of the Caribbean island in this Asian country, staged a Flash Mob this Sunday afternoon demonstrating that Casino is also danced in Malaysia.

The values and richness of Cuban culture have crossed borders, and its contagious rhythms, such as Casino, are enjoyed and taught by dance academies in Kuala Lumpur.

Cuba and Malaysia: 50th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations

Diplomatic relations between Cuba and Malaysia were established on February 6, 1975.

On this 50th anniversary, we remember the milestones of relations between Cuba and Malaysia, whose foundations have been formed from respect and friendship.

Cuba opened its embassy in Kuala Lumpur on 1997, while Malaysia opened its representation in Havana in February 2001.
