Manila, January 15, 2026. The Embassy of Cuba thanks its Filipino friends for the “Statement of Support for Cuba from the Philippine-Cuban Friendship Society (PCFS).”
The Philippine-Cuban Friendship Society (PCFS) conveyed to our diplomatic mission a Statement of Support, in which it expresses its firm solidarity with the people and the Revolution of Cuba and recognizes its steadfast defense of national independence, sovereignty, and the irreversible achievements of its historic struggle for social justice, equality, and human dignity.
The friends of Cuba in the Philippines condemned any coercive and hostile political measures by the Trump administration that seek to undermine Cuba’s right to self-determination. They described as unjust and contrary to the principles of international law, peaceful coexistence and mutual respect between nations the imposition of unilateral sanctions and extraterritorial pressures that impact the Cuban economy and restrict the free exercise of its sovereign will.
We reaffirm our conviction that the Cuban Revolution, rooted in the will of its people, must be respected and defended. Cuba's contributions to global health, education, and international solidarity reflect its profound commitment to peace and human well-being and deserve recognition.
In this spirit, the Philippine-Cuban Friendship Society reiterates its support for:
• Cuba's right to import fuel from any supplier without U.S. interference.
• The sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Cuba, free from external interference.
• The right of the Cuban people to forge their own future, self-determination, and social development.
• The promotion of peace, cooperation, and international solidarity among peoples and nations.
The Philippine-Cuban Friendship Society (PCFS) calls upon all governments and peoples of conscience to unite in opposition to Trump's coercive actions and irrational and undisciplined accusations, which threaten peace, humanitarian cooperation, and a world where justice and mutual respect prevail. They call upon the international community to support Cuba in the face of US pressure.
Their statement concludes with: Long live a free Cuba! Long live peace and international solidarity!
