Cuban culture was celebrated in Malaysia by dancing Rueda de Casino

Kuala Lumpur October 19, 2025. The local cultural project "Rueda at the Park” celebrated its third year as part of the celebration of Cuban Culture Day by dancing la Rueda de Casino.

This group of enthusiastic casino dance lovers are promoters of Cuban culture in Asia, and this Sunday they celebrated to the rhythm of Van Van.

The richness of Cuban culture have crossed borders, and its contagious rhythms, such as Casino, are enjoyed and taught by dance academies in Kuala Lumpur.

Cuban culture celebrated in Malaysia with screening of the film José Martí The Eye of the Canary

Kuala Lumpur October 13, 2025. The Embassy of Cuba in Malaysia exhibited at the 23rd Latin American Film Festival the Cuban Film: José Martí the Eye of the Canary as part of the celebration of Cuban culture this October.

The Latin American Film Festival in Kuala Lumpur with its venue at Sunway University brings the possibility to show a representation of the rich and diverse culture of our region, in particular our cinema production.

Philippines and Cuba exchange views on Higher Education

Interesting exchange between the Cuban ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández and the Minister of Higher Education of the Philippines Dr. Shirley Agrupis (Chairperson Philippine Commission on Higher Education) at Rizal Centre in the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Kuala Lumpur.

Higher education is an area with potential for greater cooperation between Cuba and the Philippines.

Malaysia and Cuba expand academic collaboration

Kuala Lumpur, October 4, 2025. Professor Dr. Roy Anthony Rogers, from the Department of International and Strategic Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya, participated online in the 10th Strategic Studies Conference, organized by the Cuban Center for International Policy Research (CIPI), held from October 1 to 3, 2025, in Havana, Cuba.

Dr. Rogers presented two interesting articles: “Malaysia’s Entry into the BRICS” and “Malaysia as a Third Country in the Current US-China Relations.”

Cuba and Malaysia exchange on Multilateral issues

Kuala Lumpur, October 3, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia, Yadira Ledesma Hernández, held a broad exchange with the Under-Secretary-General for Multilateral Affairs, Ambassador Dato' Bala Chandran Tharman, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.

After reaffirming the close ties of friendship between Malaysia and Cuba, they discussed global issues of mutual interest and efforts to strengthen cooperation, especially in multilateral forums.
