These photos fill us with joy; they are part of the cargo of a modest donation that was collected from #Malaysia to send to #Cuba as solidarity aid.
Friends of Cuba in Malaysia, doctors from here who graduated in our country, Cuban residents, and the Cuban Embassy in these Asian lands joined forces to make it possible to send this modest aid to those affected by the Hurricane in Eastern Cuba.
In collaboration with the Cuban Embassy in the Netherlands, many friends came together to achieve this humanitarian project. To all of them, our gratitude.
The difficulties we had to overcome to make it happen were countless, as the obstacles of the sanctions imposed by the US Blockade against Cuba reach everywhere and are almost insurmountable; but no more so than the desire to help our people. We practically had to make magic to achieve it, but our people, who have been so solidary, need and deserve it.
That modest donation of bedsheets and towels for families in a community where everything was lost to floods and raging winds carries more than material value; it conveys a message of support, affection, and admiration for the resilience of our people.
We hope that the dreams of a better Cuba keep knitting on those bedsheets, a Cuba that we do not renounce and for which many continue to work and bet.
