Kuala Lumpur, November 13, 2025. The Embassy of Cuba in Malaysia commemorated the 5th anniversary of Cuba's accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC). On November 10, 2020, Cuba became the first Caribbean nation and the fifth Latin American nation to join this instrument, thus demonstrating its commitment to continue strengthening relations with ASEAN member countries based on mutual respect, solidarity, and cooperation.

It was a wonderful experience for the Cuban Embassy in Malaysia to participate in the 16th Latin American Festival in Malaysia, an opportunity that strengthens ties of friendship between this Asian nation and Latin America, and showcases the diversity and cultural richness of our peoples.
We thank the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Dato' Seri TPr. Dr. Maimunah Mohd Sharif, for her presence at the Cuban stand and for her kind words recalling her visit to Havana.
Kuala Lumpur, October 27, 2025. Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández attended the opening of the 47th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), under the rotating presidency of Malaysia.
Following this 47th Summit, ASEAN, as a regional bloc for political, economic, and sociocultural integration, has a new member: Timor-Leste, displaying its logo: "Inclusivity and Sustainability."

Philippine-Cuban Friendship Society (PCFS), Philippines-Cuba Friendship Association (AMISTAD, and Philippines-Cuba Cultural and Friendship Association (PHILCUBA), have joined the international campaign for the immediate lifting of the illegal Blockade of the United States of America against Cuba.
