Kuala Lumpur, January 5, 2026. The Embassy of Cuba in Malaysia joins the National Mourning declared by the Revolutionary Government for the loss of our compatriots who fell defending their duty.
To the 32 Cubans that lost their lives in combat, while serving on missions representing the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, at the request of their counterparts in Venezuela, Eternal glory!
At the Extraordinary Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba stated:
"The vile and criminal military aggression by the #USA against civilian and military installations in Caracas and other Venezuelan cities, and the criminal kidnapping of the legitimate and constitutional president of #Venezuela, #NicolásMaduro Moros, and his wife Cilia Flores, in addition to constituting acts of aggression and breaches of the peace, and acts of state terrorism, flagrantly violate the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and International Law, especially the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Venezuela, and the inalienable right of the Venezuelan people to self-determination without external interference or meddling.
It is a legal, political, and ethical imperative to immediately demand verifiable guarantees of the integrity and security of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and his wife, and to demand their unconditional and immediate release."
