Helsinki, August 28, 2023.- The Ambassador of Cuba, Beatriz Parra González, held a meeting with the Reverend Dr. Juha Meriläinen (sr.), Advisor for international issues to the Archbishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.
During the exchange, the diplomat highlighted the interest in bringing the religious entities of Cuba and Finland closer together, while acknowledging the important performance of the Lutheran Church in the country and in promoting international collaboration projects.
For his part, His Excellency the Reverend Meriläinen thanked the contact and confirmed the interest in strengthening ties between institutions of both countries.
The meeting addresses multiple issues associated with Cuba and its national news. The Ambassador signified the scope of the United States blockade in the daily life of the people, a scourge that has been repeatedly denounced by the authorities of the religious institutions and creeds of Cuban civil society.
