Ambassador highlights the role of women in Cuban society

SRI LANKA, March 30, 2019. - Invited by the South Asia Policy and Research Institute (SAPRI), the ambassador of Cuba, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, participated in a round table with the Women Local Government Councilors of the District of Vavuniya, Northern Province. This activity is part of the project carried out by SAPRI for the empowerment of women.

The Ambassador highlighted the important role played by Cuban women in the various spheres of our society, where among other examples she mentioned that women currently represent 53.2% of the members of the Cuban Parliament. She also highlighted the ideas of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz, who always understood the impressive political force that women represent in the Revolution.
