Sri Lankan youth ratified support to Cuba in event tribute to Che

Young people from Sri Lanka demanded the immediate removal of Cuba from the U.S.-created list of countries suspected of sponsoring terrorism, in an exciting event in honor of Ernesto Che Guevara.

The event, held in the well-known Garden of Che-place where he planted a tree during his visit to Sri Lanka in August 1959, was convened by the Socialist Youth Union of Sri Lanka (SYU), the youth wing of Janata Vimukti Puramuna (JVP), to mark the 57th anniversary of the capture and subsequent murder in Bolivia of the Argentine-Cuban fighter.

In the current context we can observe and witness in a global scale, the perils of imperialism and the way countries and working people are affected by those. Wars and conflicts with no ending sight are being continued and fueled by the imperialists. Existing system of imperialism has proven over and over again it doe9 not act in favor of the people instead it serves only the exploitation and the concentration of capital. However, it is a blessing to the world that there are people and organizations that progressively hold the value for humanity and human values.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba strongly rejects a new US act   complicit with terrorist violence against Cuba.

The US judicial authorities have decided to release Alexander Alazo, the individual who, on April 30, 2020, stood in the middle of the street and shot 32 rounds with a machine gun against the Cuban embassy in that country, at the moment when 7 persons stayed inside the building.

Sri Lankan digital newspaper Lankaleader published in full in Sinhala and English the statement of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The Israeli aggression in the Middle East must be stopped, in which Cuba, while expressing its solidarity with the nations attacked by Israel, calls for peace, and for negotiations for an immediate ceasefire to avoid further escalation of a conflict that has already cost the lives of tens of thousands of people and has aggravated the humanitarian crisis to alarming levels in populations in the region.
