Oslo, May 25, 2022. The Ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, held a meeting with Mr. Tore Villard, member of the Board of Directors of the Norwegian company The Island Rum Company AS.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and Mr. Villard exchanged information about the origins and progress of the joint venture Ron Vigía S.A., established in 2020 between the Spanish company Island Rum Brands SL, a subsidiary of The Island Rum Company, and Zerus, society sponsored by the Cuban sugar business group AZCUBA.
Ron Vigía S.A., designed for the production and export of different spirits based on that brand, includes offers like Black Tears, the first dry spiced spirit made with Cuban rum, and La Progresiva 13, a dry aged sipping rum, both already present in several international markets.
The production of the spirits of Ron Vigía S.A. is made in a rum factory located in the province of Ciego de Ávila, central region of Cuba. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
