Oslo, April 27, 2022. A pleasant exchange was held by the ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, with Hugo Sandoval, an old friend of Cuba of Chilean origin who has lived in Norway for more than 30 years.
Hugo, a social worker that loves its profession, is a member of the Red Party, branch of Norland, where he currently lives. He is also a long-standing trade unionist cadre within the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), first in Trondheim and now in his current province of residence.
A cooperation project between LO in Trondheim and the Central Workers’ Union of Cuba (CTC) in the Cuban province of Sancti Spíritus was among the topics addressed during the meeting. Sandoval expressed his desire that it be relaunched as soon as possible for the benefit of both parties.
The Ambassador took the opportunity to offer updated information on topics of interest in the Cuban reality. In this context, she addressed the issue of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against Cuba by the US, as well as the campaign of destabilization and subversion carried out by the government of that country with the aim of overthrowing the Cuban Revolution.
