Ambassador Rodolfo Benítez Verson, speaks on the occasion of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of Grenada. 49th session of the Human Rights Council’s UPR Working Group. 

We extend a warm welcome to the delegation of the sister nation of Grenada.

We acknowledge the commitment of this Caribbean country to the Universal Periodic Review and the progress made during the last period.

With a constructive spirit, we make three recommendations:

1. Continue advancing the implementation of the pension system reform for public-sector workers.
2. Strengthen the enforcement of the 2024 Compulsory School Age Law with the aim of ensuring schooling for all children under the age of 18.
3. Maintain cooperation with United Nations human rights mechanisms of universal, non-selective and non-discriminatory implementation.

We wish Grenada every success in this review and in implementing the accepted recommendations.
