The Cuban Ambassador, Alejandro Simancas, visited the community of Canaries on the western coast of Saint Lucia, where a pilot project will be initiated in Saint Lucia from the renowned Cuban Literacy Program “Yo sí puedo”. Said project is undertaken as part of the cooperation between the Ministries of Education of both countries. The Ambassador was accompanied by the MINED (Ministry of Education) Specialists Jorge Tamayo Collado and Daimarelys Verdecia who supervised the conditions of the center where this program will be piloted, with which it will contribute to the social development of Saint Lucia. Present during the visit were Shem Hippolyte, Head of the Canaries Administrative Office, Lennel Malzaire, Director of Innovation of the Ministry of Education and Innovation and Shervon Antoine, Assistant of the Minister of Tourism and Member of Parliament for the District of Canaries, Honorable Dominic Fedee.
