Islamabad, 27 February 2026. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Damián Cordero Torres, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, and Ambassador of the sister Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The relations between Cuba and Vietnam themselves led to a special visit, in which the two Ambassadors exchanged views on the historic brotherhood between the two peoples, forged in the course of the Cuban revolution.
After addressing issues of mutual interest, Ambassador Cordero Torres took the opportunity to update his Vietnamese counterpart on the latest events against Cuba by the United States government, and in particular, the attempt by several people to infiltrate Cuba for terrorist purposes on a boat from Florida.
The Cuban Ambassador also expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Ambassador for the unconditional support of the Communist Party, the government and the people of Vietnam to Cuba during very difficult times of the US blockade. For his part, the Vietnamese Ambassador acknowledged the gesture on the part of Cuba, wished the Cuban Ambassador success in his work, and both diplomatic representatives agreed to maintain the exchange at the level and commitment of the solid relations between Cuba and Vietnam.
