Ambassador wishes success to President of the Senate of Grenada on her visit to Cuba.

St George, September 14. The Ambassador of Cuba in Grenada, Ivette Martínez Leyva, wished success to the President of the Senate, the Honorable Senator Dessima D Williams, who will make an official visit to the Island between September 15 and 20.

At the invitation of the President of the National Assembly of People's Power, Cro Esteban Lazo, Senator Williams will have two days of official meetings, and then participate in the International Seminar for Young Parliamentarians.

The President will be accompanied by Senators Norland Cox, Representative of the Opposition Party (New National Party) in the Senate, and Senator Quinc Britton, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Economy and Culture. In an agenda of varied exchanges with deputies who serve different sectors, the senators will be able to share their experiences and receive feedback from the Cuban parliamentarians.

President Dessima Williams will be received at the National Assembly of People's Power, the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment by their Presidents and executives, to discuss common interests and meet objectives of the visit.

Senator Williams was Grenada's Ambassador to the United Nations and has an extensive track record in environmental work. She was President of the Alliance of Small Island Developing States and led a global initiative on climate change in 40 islands. She is currently Special Advisor for the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations.
