Harare, May 20, 2025 – The Cuban Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Ms. Susellys Pérez Mesa, reiterated today the Caribbean island's support for the legitimate and historic cause of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), during a meeting with her counterpart, His Excellency Mr. Louali Moussa Zaoui.
The ambassadors praised the relations of friendship, brotherhood, and cooperation between the two countries, as well as their mutual desire to consolidate their historic bilateral ties.
The Head of the Cuban Mission congratulated the diplomatic representative of the SADR on the 52nd anniversary of the creation of the Polisario Front, the vanguard of the Sahrawi people's struggle for the end of colonialism, independence, and self-determination.
Moussa Zaoui, for his part, praised the Caribbean nation's collaboration with medical teams and teachers in refugee camps in southern Algeria, an example for the international community of concrete actions to address the needs of the population in free and occupied territories.
The two diplomats discussed projects of bilateral interest and issues related to relations with Zimbabwe and members of the Southern African Development Community.
