Abuja, January 7, 2026. — The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Miriam Morales Palmero, received the new Ambassador of the State of Qatar accredited to Nigeria, Yousuf Mohammed Al-Hil, on a courtesy visit. The meeting was marked by cordial dialogue and a shared interest in continuing to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, both parties recalled the solid and sustained ties of cooperation between Cuba and Qatar, highlighting in particular collaboration in the medical sector, recognized for its positive results and the human and social impact it has generated. They also exchanged views on the positive state of bilateral relations and their shared interest in expanding them into new areas of cooperation.
The meeting reaffirmed the willingness of both governments to deepen diplomatic dialogue, promote mutual understanding, and advance joint initiatives that contribute to the well-being of their peoples.
The courtesy visit took place in an atmosphere of respect, cordiality, and a constructive spirit, reflecting the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation that characterize the ties between the Republic of Cuba and the State of Qatar.
Also present on the Cuban side was the Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba, Ana Flavia Gómez Pavot.
