The event “Why Do We Defend Raúl?” was held at the Nâzım Hikmet Cultural Center in Ankara, organized by the Cuba-Türkiye Friendship Association on the occasion of the 95th birthday of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and to denounce the recent accusations made against him by the United States government.
The event was attended by Kemal Okuyan, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Türkiye; Aslıhan Ilgaz, General Secretary of the Cuba-Türkiye Friendship Association; Nahide Özcan, President of the Cuba-Türkiye Friendship Association; Alejandro Díaz Palacios, Ambassador of Cuba to Türkiye; and Óscar Redondo Ramos, Counsellor of the Embassy of Cuba.
The event concluded with expressions of support for the Cuban people and a call to strengthen international solidarity with Cuba.
