The annual gathering of Cuban residents in Denmark took place in Aarhus on 31 August. The Cuban Ambassador, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas and the Consul, Ares Valdés Acea, attended the meeting where participated almost 100 Cuban residents with their families, including their descendants from different regions of the Nordic country. In this context, the Cuban consul had an exchange of views with participants about relevant issues related to the migratory policy, the new Cuban Constitution approved late February and made reference to the importance of supporting the struggle against US blockade imposed to Cuba.
The event included a cultural activity marked by the young Cuban Mirialis Starup who recited some poems of her own, with musical accompaniment and an artistic choreography by other Cuban resident. In this framework was made a call to participate in the XIV Meeting of Cuban Residents in Europe (ECRE by its acronym in Spanish), to be held in Paris, France the next year.
The activity was a contribution to reaffirm the patriotic values and cultural identity of Cuban residents in Denmark, keeping in mind their roots and traditions. (Embacuba Dinamarca).
