The annual meeting of Cuban residents in Denmark took place in Odense on 27 May. The Cuban Ambassador, Yiliam Gómez Sardiñas and the Consul, Ares Valdés Acea, attended to the meeting where participated more than 80 Cuban residents and their families, from different regions of the Nordic country. An audiovisual material was screened during the gathering, which summarizes the main activities that they developed jointly with the Embassy. The young Cuban woman Mirialis Mirabal Valdés read a set of poems of her own, dedicated to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro and to the Cubans, with musical accompaniment and an artistic choreography. In the framework of the event it was summoned to participate in the XII Meeting of Cuban Residents in Europe (ECRE), to be held in Italy.
The meeting was also attended by friends of solidarity groups, such as The Danish-Cuban Association of Friendship and its coordinator in Odense, Bjarne Nielsen. The activity showed the interest of Cubans in reaffirming their patriotic values and cultural identity, keeping in mind their roots and traditions.
