Annual Meeting of Ghanaian graduates in Cuba.

Accra, February 25, 2023 - The annual meeting of the Association of Ghanaians who have studied in Cuba was held under the theme "ESBECAN Get Together" with the presence of the Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Anette Chao Garcia, the wife of the late former president of Ghana, Nana Konadu Rawlings and Dr. Kwesi Pratt Jnr., leader of the Socialist Movement of Ghana.

 

In her remarks, the Cuban ambassador thanked the graduates for their love for Cuba, which has driven them to always support the island against the commercial, economic and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years, and also for the donations of medicines made in the past year. He updated those present on the political and economic situation in Cuba and called for networking to achieve better results in the work of the Association. He also congratulated the new ESBECAN presidency and told them that there is still much work to be done.

 

For her part, Nana Konadu Rawlings recalled anecdotes of the young people's time in Cuba and acknowledged how much their training in the largest of the Antilles had contributed to them.

 

The new President of the Association, Phillip Bentil, reviewed the history of the organization and invited all those present to join the cause of supporting the Cuba that made them stronger and more prepared.
