Cuba in Ghana

The Cuban Embassy in Ghana is commemorating the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

Accra, August 13, 2026. - We commemorated the centenary of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz with a moving ceremony at the AMA Auditorium in Accra. The book *Quotes from Fidel Castro: The Echo of the Voice of Freedom*, by Panying Anaman, was presented; a documentary produced by Panafrican TV was screened; and the Freedom Band performed songs composed especially for the occasion.

Ceremony to mark the passing of the much-loved Ambassador and great friend of Cuba, His Excellency Mr Kojo Owusu Gyamadua Amoo-Gottfried, Ghana’s first Ambassador to Cuba.

 Accra, 7 August 2026. We participated in the traditional ceremony held one week after the passing of the beloved Ambassador and great friend of Cuba, His Excellency Mr. Kojo Owusu Gyamadua Amoo-Gottfried, at the age of 92. Kojo Amoo-Gottfried was Ghana’s first Ambassador to Cuba following the reestablishment of relations between 1983 and 1988; he was in charge of the Scholarship Program for Ghanaian children and youth promoted by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and then-Ghanaian President Jerry John Rawlings.

Visit to our embassy by Her Excellency Ms Diarra Dimé-Labille, Ambassador of the French Republic in Accra.

Accra, July 30, 2026. Accra,We received a courtesy visit at the Embassy from Her Excellency Mrs Diarra Dimé-Labille, Ambassador of the French Republic in Accra. During this cordial meeting, we reaffirmed our commitment to continuing to develop relations based on respect and cooperation between our two countries in the year marking the 124th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
