GHANA SENDS HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO CUBA, JAMAICA AND SUDAN

Accra, 7 November. At a ceremony held today at Jubilee House, the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Mr. John Dramani Mahama, handed over a donation to the people of the Republic of Cuba consisting of a shipment of rice, Ghanaian chocolate, sugar, protein-based foodstuffs, mattresses, pillows, water tanks, medicines, clothing and field sanitation facilities, among other essential items.

STAFF OF THE CUBAN STATE MISSION IN GHANA CELEBRATES VICTORY AT THE UNITED NATIONS

Accra, 29 October. The staff of the Cuban State Mission in the Republic of Ghana, gathered at the premises of the Embassy, celebrated the Cuban people’s victory following the adoption, for the thirty-third consecutive time, of the resolution calling for an end to the blockade at the United Nations.

Despite pressures and overt campaigns undertaken by the Government of the United States, truth and reason once again prevailed by an overwhelming margin.

CUBAN AMBASSADOR TO GHANA ATTENDS TRIBUTE TO FORMER FIRST LADY OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA

Accra. 29 October. – The Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Julio E. Pujol Torres, participated in the tribute of honour held in memory of Her Excellency Mrs Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, the former First Lady of the Republic of Ghana and widow of the late President Jerry J. Rawlings. She was a great friend of Cuba and our Commander-in-Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.

AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF CUBA GREETS ACTING CHIEF DIRECTOR AT MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS.

Accra. 23 October. – The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Ghana, Julio E. Pujol Torres, was received at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Her Excellency Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu, Acting Chief Director.

During the meeting, they recalled the historic relations of friendship and cooperation that have been maintained for 66 years, Ghana being the first African country to establish diplomatic relations with Cuba.

They also addressed other issues on the bilateral agenda, with the aim of further strengthening relations.
