A significant anti-imperialist event was held in the city of Thessaloniki, in the Avraam Benaroya Hall of the Thessaloniki Workers' Center.
The central theme of the event was the unity of the people against US imperialism. The invited ambassadors of Cuba and Venezuela shared their experiences and offered an updated perspective on the current situation in Latin America and the Caribbean, and especially in their countries, due to the aggressive policies of the United States.
Kostas Isychos, a member of the Political Bureau of the Latin American Economic and Social Union (LAE-AA), also spoke, making important contributions regarding the events in the region and, more generally, the international situation.
During the event, which had a significant youth presence, Sabina Kourritzi, an elected member of the Student Union's Governing Council, expressed the solidarity of young people with the peoples in struggle in Latin America and linked it to the combative and anti-imperialist traditions of the student movement today.
It was an event in which the more than 200 participants denounced the threats and aggressions unleashed by imperialism and confirmed their solidarity with the struggle of the peoples of Cuba and Venezuela.
