The Antifascist International Kenya Chapter expressed its unwavering solidarity with Cuba following the United Nations General Assembly’s historic and unanimous vote, where 165 nations courageously called for the end of the more than 60-year economic embargo imposed by the United States.
The solidarity statement issued by the organization reads:
We stand in unwavering solidarity with Cuba following the United Nations General Assembly’s historic and unanimous vote—where 165 nations courageously called for the end of the more than 60-year economic embargo imposed by the United States.
This unjust embargo has inflicted severe hardship on the Cuban people and violating their basic human rights.
We condemn the United States’ continued violation of Cuba’s sovereignty, exemplified by the illegal occupation of Guantánamo Bay, where basic human rights are systematically denied through indefinite detention without trial.
This blatant disregard for international law is an extension of imperialist aggression that we, as antifascists, must resolutely oppose.
The Antifascist International Kenya Chapter salutes all 165 nations who have boldly stood for justice by voting to li this embargo. We firmly stand with Cuba in its steadfast resistance to economic warfare and political coercion designed to undermine its sovereignty and self-determination.
We call upon all antifascist and human rights movements, governments, and international organizations worldwide to support the efective implementation of the UN resolution and to hold accountable those who continue to flout international legal norms.
We urge the United States government to end this inhumane blockade, respect Cuba’s sovereign right to chart its own future, and cease all forms of external interference. Our chapter reafirms its unwavering commitment to the ongoing global fight against economic blockades, militarism, and all manifestations of fascism. True solidarity demands that we resist imperialist oppression wherever it occurs, standing shoulder to shoulder with Cuba and all oppressed peoples seeking justice and freedom.
