Islamabad, 24 February 2026. The Cuban Ambassador, Damián Cordero Torres, paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency, Monsignor Germano Penemote, Apostolic Nuncio in Pakistan. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of respect and cordiality, in keeping with the diplomatic relations between the Cuban government and the Holy See.
The Cuban ambassador expressed his gratitude for the fruitful exchange on international events and, in particular, the situation facing Cuba due to the blockade imposed by the US government. Monsignor Penemote, with complete understanding, advocated for a just and deserved solution for the Cuban nation, given all that Cuba has contributed to the world in terms of solidarity and humanism.
At the end of the visit, the Cuban Ambassador left a note in the Nunciature's guest book, thanking the highest representative of the Holy See in this country for his noble gesture.
