Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas aprueba nuevamente resolución cubana contra el bloqueo

La Haya, November 4th, 2022. On November 3rd, for the thirtieth time, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a resolution entitled “Necessity of Ending the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.” This resolution has historically received the almost unanimous support of the United Nations members, and it was again the case in this occasion. 185 Member States voted in favor, just 2 voted against (USA and Israel) and 2 abstained (Brazil and Ukraine).

This is a new victory for Cuba. That is a US moral obligation that in good faith should fulfill a General Assembly Resolution. It is also a very strong message from the international Community to the United States to lift the blockade against Cuba, to behave according to the international law and the United Nations Charter.

More than 50 speakers from different regions denounced the impacts of the blockade against Cuba and 9 international and regional organizations also raised their voices demanding the end of the US blockade. Many of them stated expressly the unfair and unjustified inclusion of Cuba in the US unilateral list of countries who they designate as sponsors of terrorism.
