Stockholm, Sweden- March 28, 2023. Taking advantage of their stay in Sweden, the delegation of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) that is on a work tour of the Nordic Region, exchanged with the Board of the Association of Friendship with Cuba in Iceland. The Cuban Embassy in Stockholm sponsored the exchange.
During the meeting, Rigoberto Zarza, ICAP director for Europe, addressed various topics of interest, including the denunciation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States, as well as the unfair inclusion of the island on the spurious list of alleged country sponsors of terrorism. Both parties agreed in pointing out the arbitrariness and cynicism of this unilateral and unfair action by the US government.
The exchange was a propitious occasion to highlight the importance of the ties of friendship and solidarity that unite the Association of Friendship with the Caribbean Island, and to reaffirm the continuity of the joint work for the defense of the Cuban Revolution, the fight against the unjust blockade and the importance of the international solidarity movement in building a more just and equitable world.
