Association of Graduates in Cuba of Sri Lanka pays tribute to the Commander in Chief

SRI LANKA, November 26, 2017. - The Association of Graduates in Cuba of Sri Lanka paid tribute to the Commander in Chief on the first anniversary of his physical disappearance. After listening to the notes of the national anthems of Cuba and Sri Lanka, a minute of silence was observed and a wreath was held next to the statue of Fidel, prepared by art students of the University of Colombo, and donated to the Embassy of Cuba by the Association of Graduates.

Dr. Ajith Madurapperuma, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology of the University of Moratuwa, on behalf of the graduates, expressed their gratitude to Cuba and Fidel for the opportunity they have offered young people from developing countries to become in professionals and work for the good of their countries. He recalled the meetings with Fidel during his stay in Cuba and how he precisely told them that after finishing their studies they should return and serve the Homeland.

The Ambassador of Cuba in Sri Lanka, Juana Elena Ramos Rodríguez, in her speech stressed that Fidel is a paradigm of resistance, dignity and internationalism. She affirmed that faithful to his legacy we will give continuity to his work without faltering to achieve success.
