Association of Sri Lankan Graduates in Cuba supports the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban Medical Contingent "Henry Reeve"
SRI LANKA, September 7, 2020. - The Sri Lankan Graduates Association in Cuba approved a statement expressing its support for the international campaign for the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Cuban Medical Contingent “Henry Reeve”.
In its statement, the Graduate Association points out that Cuba is an example of solidarity towards the world by helping those in need in the fight against one of the most dangerous pandemics that has cost a high number of human lives and without considering ethnic, religious or political differences.

Recommending the Cuban Medical Brigade “Henry Reeve” for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020
As Cuban graduates we have experienced how Cuban Government treats everybody equitably and establishes an innocent mindset among its population.
Cuba has set an example of solidarity to the world during the past 8 month period of challenging times. Cuba has shown its unconditional support to the entire world by extending medical assistance by providing their expertise in the medical field by sending fully equipped medical professional teams with medicines to support the most needed around the world to fight the most dangerous pandemic which has cost so many lives already.
Cuba gave an example of fraternity to the world by letting the British cruise ship to dock in the island in a time the ship had been refused by many due to Coronavirus fears. This is just another example of Cuban solidarity towards the international community exactly when the world needs you; it is an example of prevalence of the spirit of cooperation, multilateralism and empathy over the differences of race, religion or the political background of the affected nation.
Our association would like to nominate the Cuban International Medical Brigade Henry Reeve, to the Norwegian Nobel Committee for the 2020's Nobel Peace Prize as a recognition of unconditional support rendered by the team for the survival of the human race during peak time of COVID 19 Pandemic.
