Islamabad, September 21, 2026. A representation of the top leadership of the Awami (People) Workers Party of Pakistan, headed by its president, Akhtar Hussain, visited the Embassy of Cuba in this capital.
The Ambassador of Cuba, Damián Cordero, received the party representatives, who expressed their concern over the difficult situation in Cuba, caused by the escalation of the multidimensional U.S. blockade.
The Cuban ambassador expressed gratitude for the gesture of the solidarity visit and updated the comrades on the complex situation experienced on the Island due to the increase in sanctions nearly every week, the energy siege, and the military threat from the U.S. administration. He added that Cuba would stand firm, defend its independence at all costs, and furthermore relied on the solidarity of the world and of the grateful.
The delegation of the Awami Workers Party presented the Cuban ambassador with a statement of unconditional solidarity with Cuba and total rejection of the genocidal blockade imposed by the government of the United States.
