On the morning of December 14, 2020, at the Cuban Embassy in Barbados, Ambassador Sergio Jorge Pastrana and Consul Liliana Wong Servio handed over the scholarship ticket to study medicine at the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba to Ms. Shawnte Wilson, who requested this opportunity and completed the requirements to access those studies. Ms. Wilson was accompanied by her father, who recalled thinking many years ago about applying for a scholarship to study medicine in Cuba and expressed being very proud that his daughter was accessing this opportunity. Next January, Ms. Wilson will travel to Cuba to begin her studies.
