Barbadian Minister of Tourism ponders the multi-destination with Cuba.

The Minister of Tourism and International Transportation of Barbados, Kerrie Symmonds, received Cuban Ambassador Francisco Fernández to discuss the possibilities of bilateral cooperation with Cuba in multi-destination tourism, based on the projections contained in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the national authorities of that branch of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Cuba during the last bilateral Summit Meeting of Heads of Government held in Antigua and Barbuda in December 2017. Accompanied by his Permanent Secretary, Donna Cadogan, and the Executive Director of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), William Griffith, the Minister identified the need for greater economic integration for the mutual benefit of our economies and in that sense the employment of the modality of multi-destination tourism with Cuba expands the possibilities of economic and cultural exchange. For this purpose, it was decided in the meeting to establish contacts between BTMI and its Cuban counterpart, Havanatur, with a view to evaluating the transport combinations available in our area and take advantage of those that are more advantageous to implementing the first initiatives in the near future.
