Barbadian volleyball stands with medals in the male and female branches.

Based on the objectives outlined in the cooperation agreement currently in force between the National Sports Council (NSC) and Cubadeportes S.A., volleyball stands out among sports with increasing results in both sexes. In these five years, continuity has been a relevant factor in the results achieved, during which Cuban coach Julio Alberto Madrazo began training from the base to lead the Barbadian teams together and to become the Technical Director of Volleyball in Barbados. Therefore, another Cuban technician, José Hernández Murray, was hired to continue training in the schools and work with the Federation.

Among the factors that have influenced this upward work can be mentioned having worked with concentrated groups to take advantage of and follow up on the accumulated experience with the selected athletes, the parallel attention to sport in both sexes, the personalized work to attend the individual development of skills of the athletes, and the transfer of knowledge to Barbadian technicians creating conditions for team teaching. The main results achieved are summarized as follows:

2012: Second place in the Caribbean Tournament, Junior, in Trinidad and Tobago (m).

2013: First place in the Caribbean Tournament, Junior, in Guadalupe (m).

2014: First place in the Caribbean Tournament, Junior, Trinidad and Tobago (m); Classification of Barbados, for the first time, for NORCECA, in San Salvador, where the 6th place (m) was obtained.

2015: Technical assistance was provided to the athletes for the Caribbean Youth Tournament, reaching the First place, Curaçao (f).

2016: First place in the Caribbean Tournament, Junior, in Barbados (m).

2017: Participation in the Pan-American of Volleyball, U-23, in Canada, reaching 6th place (m).
