Barbados participates in the International Radio and TV Convention in Cuba

The General Manager of Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), the state Radio and Television chain of Barbados, Doug Hoyte, and the General Manager of the new Ocean News Network project, Rahmat JN-Pierre, participate in the Radio and Television Convention Cuba 2018, to be held between June 6 and 9 at the Plaza América Convention Center, Varadero, convened by the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ISCRT), which in its third international edition highlights the exhibitions, exhibitions, sales and free presentations, with the essential purpose to build a common space of interest for participants who work for these media, through a scientific program that takes as its guiding principle the historical memory and the preservation of cultural heritage in public radio and television, considering that in the gaze to our identities lies the greatest strength for creation and its challenges in the global era imposed by the transnationals of information and communication.

As in previous editions, it has workshops, master classes and other activities on radio and television, including the Encounter of the World Network of Broadcasters and Channels in defense of Humanity. Stimulating the participation of the filmmakers through the awarding of those works best achieved from the point of view of their ethical and aesthetic values, is also the purpose of the Convention, for which this edition calls for the Alberto Luberta Cuba - 2018 Competition.

The presence of a growing number of participants from different geographical areas in previous Radio and Television events in our country ensures that the Convention promises to be again an essential space that will contribute increasingly to the dialogue among all those who accompany us in the search for new routes in the work of Radio and Public Television.
