The BCCI proposes the signing of a MOU with the Cuban Chamber of Commerce.

The Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Barbados (BCCI), Carlos Wharton, met with the Cuban Ambassador Francisco Fernández, to review the ongoing issues of bilateral relations, after having signed of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba (CCC) in November of 2017, during the International Fair of Havana (FIHAV); on this occasion, the BCCI is submitting to the consideration of its Cuban counterpart the signing of another MOU to be connected in an electronic network that will allow linking Caribbean organizations and promote trade and business in a more comprehensive and effective way. The draft text of that new MOU is attached:

The Barbados Chamber of  Commerce and Industry  and The Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba, which may be referred to hereinafter together as THE PARTIES, agree to sign this Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of strengthening trade and investment between Barbados Chamber Of Commerce and Industry and the Republic of Cuba agreeing to the following:

THE PARTIES shall cooperate and give their best for the strengthening and development of trade and investment between the Republic of Cuba and Barbados.

THE PARTIES will exchange, regularly, market information and trade-related data between the two countries. Under this provision, the Parties agree to facilitate access to commercial bulletins issued by both institutions.

THE PARTIES shall, wherever feasible, support the organization of missions and visits of business delegations of the membership of both institutions between the two Countries.

THE PARTIES shall promote the participation of their members at trade fairs, exhibitions, seminars, symposia, conferences and other similar events held in both countries, and which are aimed at expanding trade between the two countries.

THE PARTIES shall organize meetings and seminars in each of their countries to promote investment opportunities, potential joint projects and other business opportunities that may be available in both countries.

This Memorandum shall enter into force upon signature by the authorized representatives of THE PARTIES, in two originals in English and Spanish, both versions being equally valid and shall take effect unless either of the two institutions gives the other at least three (3) months’ notice of modification or termination.

Done and signed in _______________ on the ___ days of the month of November 2017, in two originals, in the Spanish and English languages, both texts being equally valid.
