Bolivarian Solidarity Association of Sri Lanka send greetings from removal of Cuba from the US State Department’s list of State Sponsors of Terrorism

The removal of Cuba from the US State Department’s list of State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) is a victory for the entire anti-imperialist world
On January 14, the US State Department took steps to remove Cuba from the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT). This is a matter of great joy for the Bolivarian solidarity of Sri Lanka, which unconditionally stands in defense of the Cuban Revolution.
According to the statement issued by the US State Department on January 14, “1. Remove Cuba from the State Department list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism; 2. Make use of the presidential faculty to prevent US courts from taking action with regards to lawsuits that might be filed by virtue of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; and 3. Eliminate the list of restricted Cuban entities that designates a group of institutions which US citizens and institutions are not allowed to make financial transactions with, which has had an impact on third countries.”
Although the decision announced by the U.S. State Department is limited in scope, we read that this decision is a decision that drives in the right direction. We also see the decision of the U.S. State Department as a unanimous response to the request made by the entire pro-Cuban, anti-imperialist people in the whole world.
However, we, the Bolivarian solidarity of Sri Lanka emphasize that the economic blockade and tens of thousands of coercive measures imposed to further strengthen the sanctions imposed on Cuba, since 2017 are still in force. We further emphasize that the negative impact of the US sanctions which act completely outside Cuban territory, violates the human rights of all Cubans.
Accordingly, we emphasize that the entire anti-imperialist people of the world must act courageously to defend the Cuban Revolution and the human rights of the Cuban people, one of the most peaceful and friendly Nations in the world.
The theory that the United States follows regarding Cuba is based on the theory that former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Lester Mallory presented in 1960, namely that the economic blockade, misery, hunger and despair will bring the Cuban people to their knees. Accordingly, we would like to point out to the world's pro-Cuban, Anti imperialists that USA will not need much time to reverse the decision taken by the US State Department on January 14, 2025. We pledge that if the above-mentioned fact becomes true, we will join hands with the anti-imperialist people of the world to reverse that decision.
To build the morale of anti-imperialist people like us outside Cuban territory, I would like to emphasize that the boundless dedication of thousands of Cubans who have never seen the heroic leaders of the Cuban Revolution, led by Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, and who now consider Cuba their homeland, to defend the Cuban Revolution has provided an impetus for us who contributed to this victory for the Cubans.
