Cambodia said No to the US blockade against Cuba

On 23 June 2021, H.E. Mr. Ke Sovann, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the United Nation, attended the UNGA 85th plenary meeting and delivered a statement on explanation of vote after the vote on the draft resolution A/75/L.97 entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The International Community once again overwhelming stood behind Cuba’s plight demanding the lifting of the six-decade-long US blockade on the island.

For the 29th   occasion, the UN General Assembly voted the Resolution Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba.

The resolution was adopted by184    votes in favor,  2  against United States, Israel, and  3  abstentions.
