Caravan of cars by Windhoek to condemn the US blockade.

Namibia, March 27th, 2021- More than fifty people, in about twenty cars, staged a caravan condemning the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

Among the participants were members of the Namibia - Cuba Friendship Association, the main organizer of the solidarity act, Cuban collaborators, Cuban residents and members of the Cuban Embassy in Namibia.

The event, held in strict compliance with health security measures, took place through the main arteries of Windhoek, capital of Namibia, including Independence Avenue and Fidel Castro Street. The cars, dressed with Cuban and Namibian flags, as well as posters condemning the blockade, traveled more than 5 kilometers, during which dissimilar expressions of support could be seen among passers-by.

Ambassador Sidenio Acosta Aday was interviewed by the media that covered the event, including the national television network NBC. The Cuban diplomat described the blockade as the main obstacle to Cuba's development and called for its unconditional lifting.

For her part, Cecilia Muzile, a Cuban graduate and general secretary of the Namibia - Cuba Friendship Association, also before the journalists present, condemned this genocidal policy of the US government. Likewise, she called on the Namibian people to continue solidarity with Cuba.

The caravan continues the traditional march against the blockade that is organized annually on Independence Avenue, interrupted in 2020 by the incidence of COVID.

Part of the journey was broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Cuban Embassy in Namibia and on the personal profile of Ambassador Sidenio Acosta.
