Kingston, 17 March 2025. Daniela Anaya Vicente, Deputy Director of Communication and Programming of Caribbean House paid a working visit to Jamaica from 5-15 March, aimed at promoting the participation of Jamaican artists and intellectuals in the Caribbean Festival.
During her stay she was received by Deanroy Bernard, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, with responsibilities for Entertainment, Culture and Special Projects. She also met with executives of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission; the Institute of Jamaica; the National Gallery; the Edna Manley College for Visual and Performing Arts; as well as the ASHE and L'Acadco dance companies.
The meetings highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties that unite both nations and the endless possibilities for cooperation in the different artistic manifestations. Anaya Vicente, on behalf of the Caribbean House, extended an invitation to Jamaican institutions and counterparts to participate in the 44th edition of the Caribbean Festival, scheduled to be held in Santiago de Cuba between July 3 and 9.
The visit was supported by Caribbean Passion, a Jamaican travel agency run by members of the Cuban community residing in this territory.
