Caribbean Labour Congress to approve a resolution for lifting the US blockade against Cuba.

Asokore Beckles, one of the leaders of the National Union of Public Workers Barbados (NUPW), elected Assistant Secretary General of the Caribbean Congress of Labour (CCL) during its 19th Triennial Delegates Meeting held in Antigua and Barbuda, delivered to Cuban Ambassador in Barbados a copy of the resolution adopted by the regional trade union body joining the international clamor for the "full, immediate and unconditional lifting of the blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba". The CCL, which brings together 32 organizations from 17 countries in the region also decided to deploy a public campaign on this issue and asked the American union AFL/CIO to raise that requirement to the US Congress. The original document signed by members of Congress will be delivered to the Workers' Central Union of Cuba.
