The Ambassador Pedro Luis Despaigne González, in his speech, thanked Cuba's friends in Ghana for their concrete expressions of solidarity expressed during the year 2019, and again expressed the will of the people and the Antillean government to follow the path of the construction of Socialism, and to overcome any obstacle that arises in that way. He also paid tribute to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, and Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, initiators of diplomatic relations, who recently turned 60.

Representatives of the organizations that make up the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, the First Vice Chairman of the Trades Union Congress / Ghana (TUC), Mr. Alexander Nyarko-Opoku; the leader of the Socialist Forum of Ghana, Mr. Kwesi Pratt (Jr); the President of ESBECAN, Engineer Musah Swallah; all agreed on the impact of the Cuban Revolution for the African continent and for Ghana in particular, rejected the resurgence of the blockade against Cuba by the current US administration, and expressed their commitment to strengthen solidarity actions with the Caribbean island.

The celebration, held in areas of the 37 Military Hospital in Accra, also welcomed the presence of a large representation of Ghanaian graduates in Cuba, including doctors graduated in July 2019; members of the Cuban Medical Brigade; Cuban residents and the staff of the Cuban Embassy; and it was characterized by the joy of all those present, who once again ratified their support and commitment to the continuity of the Cuban Revolution.

The activity was a great fraternization party, where Cuban and Ghanaian rhythms were danced, as well as typical dishes from both countries were served.
