CELEBRAN EN INDONESIA CONCIERTO SOLIDARIO CON CUBA
On Friday afternoon, a concert was held in solidarity with Cuba in the face of serious damage caused by Hurricane Irma organized by the Jaya Suprana Foundation in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event took place at the renowned Jaya Suprana Foundation "School of Performing Arts" and was attended by Mr. Wit Jaksono Adji, Acting Director of the Americas I Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President of the Foundation, Professor and renowned pianist Jaya Suprana, ambassadors of friendly countries, officials of the chancellery and personalities of culture, society and the country's media.
After the interpretation of the national anthems of the two countries by an outstanding quintet of voices with several prestigious international awards and a typical orchestra of the country, the Director of the Jaya Suprana Foundation expressed his sympathy for the Cuban people and recalled the legacy of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro. The Director of Americas then highlighted the ties of friendship between Indonesia and Cuba and read in Spanish a message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressing solidarity with the Cuban people and wishing it strength and spirit in the process of recovering the damages caused by the hurricane.
During the presentation, several young pianists performed classic works of the international repertoire which were dedicated to Cuba, while the orchestra of typical instruments interpreted Carlos puebla´s song "Hasta Siempre Comandante" dedicated to Che Guevara and the Guantanamera, creating an emotive atmosphere.
