Vientiane 31 December 2025. The Embassy of Cuba celebrated the 67th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution and the upcoming centenary of the historic leader, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro. This occasion was shared with Dr. Chaleun Yiapaoheu, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Vice President of the Lao National Assembly, and President of the Lao-Cuba Friendship Association and Parliamentary Group; with Comrade Bonleua Phandanouvong, Head of the External Relations Committee of the Central Committee of the LPP; and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Malaythong Tammavongsa, as well as other vice ministers and high-ranking leaders and officials from Lao ministries and institutions.
The longtime friends also joined and reaffirmed their unconditional support for Cuba.
The Embassador of Cuba Enna Viant, reported on the internal economic situation difficulties affected by the ilegal US blockade and thanked Laos and the international community represented for the unwavering support to the Cuban resolution demanding to put an end to the protracted economic war wich affects the Cuban people. Also warned on the dangerous and heightened tension in the Caribbean and Latin America due to the unusual deployment of troops and weaponry, which undermines the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace adopted by CELAC in Havana.
Finally it was highlighted the shared leadership of Fidel Castro and Kaysone Phomvihane, architects of the historic solidarity and friendship between Cuba and Lao, built on shared challenges and mutual cooperation.
Ambassadors and officials from the Diplomatic Corps and International Organizations, as well as representatives of Cuban collaboration in the country, also were attended.
The greetings of the Cuban leaders to their Laotian counterparts reiterating their commitment to continue strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, were conveyed.
