Celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the University of Seychelles (UniSey)

Victoria, September 17th. The Cuban Embassy in Seychelles, was represented by the Chargé d'Affaires a.i., Tomás Méndez, at the celebration of the center for higher education on the occasion of its 15 years of foundation.

With the presence of the Minister of Youth, Sports and Family of Seychelles, H.E. Mrs. Marie-Céline Zialor, the Minister of Lands and Housing, H.E. Mr. Billy Rangasamy, university authorities chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Joëlle Perreau, members of the diplomatic corps and students, the celebration became a well-deserved tribute to all those who have contributed to the development of the University since its foundation in September 2009, encouraged by the then President of Seychelles, James Michel.

The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses up to the scientific degree of Master. It has two faculties, Faculty of Arts and Social Development and Faculty of Business and Sustainable Development. It is registered by the Government of Seychelles as a National University. Efforts are continuing to incorporate the scientific degree of Doctor of Science into the curriculum.

For the occasion, a message of congratulations and recognition was conveyed by H.E. Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, President of the Republic of Seychelles and Rector of the University.
