Cuban Ambassador pays courtesy visit to Principal Secretary of the Seychelles Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Victoria, September 4th._ During a courtesy visit, Cuban Ambassador Martha Hernández Caneiro congratulated Ambassador Ian Madeleine, recently appointed as Seychelles' Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, they discussed areas in which cooperation ties are currently being developed, such as health, the arts, and culture, as well as the potential for expanding these ties to other areas. Both parties expressed their willingness to continue developing collaboration and political dialogue.

Victoria, July 7th. The United Nations Development Program Office for Seychelles inaugurated its new headquarters in Victoria, Seychelles.

Its Permanent Representative, Amanda Serumaga, highlighted the historic ties of cooperation between the organization and Seychelles with more than 40 years of mutual relations, friendship and exchange.

Cuba sends congratulatory messages on a new Independence Anniversary of Seychelles

Victoria, June 29th. On June 29th, 1976, the Seychelles flag was raised for the first time in its history as a free and sovereign nation, for which thousands of Seychellois fought to achieve the desired and necessary independence from the British metropolis.

On the occasion of the celebration of the 49th Anniversary of the Independence of Seychelles, Cuba sends its most sincere congratulations to the government and people of Seychelles and wishes them the best wishes for prosperity and development.

Seychelles launches “Maritime Week 2024”

Victoria, September 25th Maritime Week 2024, the most important maritime transport event in the Indian Ocean region, was inaugurated at the Savoy Hotel in Victoria. Businessmen, politicians, maritime authorities from the region are meeting in Seychelles from September 24th to 26th to exchange experiences, agree on new business, coordinate maritime development programs and promote the development of the region's maritime industries.

Havana, September 18th. The President of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Wavel Ramkalwan, held a cordial meeting with the Cuban minister of Health, Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda. During the meeting, they exchanged on the historical cooperation links in the health field between Cuba and Seychelles and the existing potentialities to continue their development.

The president, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, developed an intense agenda of activities, visiting institutions such as the international health center “La Pradera”, holding meetings at the headquarters of the business group Biocubafarma and a fruitful meeting with the Minister of Public Health, Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda.

Havana, September 17th. The President of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo Hernández, received the President of the Republic of Seychelles, His Excellency Mr. Wavel Ramkalwan, at the Cuban Parliament's headquarters in the National Capitol.
