Celebration for the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Egypt

On September 5, the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Egypt was celebrated in Cairo. At the event, the Cuban Ambassador Tania Aguiar Fernández highlighted the good state of the bilateral ties between both countries, also reaffirming the will to continue strengthening them and on the other hand thanked the unconditional support of the Egyptian government to fight against the unfair blockade imposed on Cuba by the US government for over 60 years.
In his speech he stressed the convergence of both countries on transcendental issues of the international agenda, such as the NAM, the defense of the cause of the Palestinian people, the fight against terrorism among others.
Cuban export products were exhibited in the search to strengthen trade between the two countries.
Among those present were Saimee Abu Abla, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Karim Darwish Director of International Relations of Parliament; Mostapha Waziry, Director of the Supreme Council of Antiquities; Magda Baraka, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin America; Suadad Najim Director of Latin America of the Arab League; Presidents of several of the main political parties; Abdel Hakim Abdel Nasser, son of former President Gamal Abdel Nasser; members of the Egypt-Cuba friendship association; as well as Latin American Ambassadors accredited in Cairo.
