Cuban Ambassador Gives Interview to Egyptian National Radio

Cairo, May 13, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, gave an exclusive interview to Egyptian National Radio in which he discussed the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and highlighted areas where collaboration could be expanded in the future.

The diplomat highlighted the friendship established between Cuban leader Fidel Castro Ruz and Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the high degree of agreement in their views on the main issues on the international agenda.

Egyptian media fully replicate the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s statement

Cairo, May 11, 2026. Egyptian media fully replicate the May 7 statement from the Cuban Foreign Ministry, which rejects, in the strongest terms, the Executive Order issued by the White House on May 1 that intensifies the blockade against Cuba to extreme and unprecedented levels.

Similarly, the statement condemns the decision by the U.S. Department of the Treasury on May 7, 2026, to add the Cuban entities Gaesa and MoaNickel S.A. to the Specially Designated Nationals List, this being the first coercive measure resulting from the order signed on May 1.

The Egyptian Socialist Labor Party Expresses Solidarity with Cuba and Rejects U.S. Threats

Cairo, May 10, 2026. The Egyptian Socialist Labor Party issued a statement of solidarity with the Cuban people and government in the face of the successive and constant threats from the U.S. government, and in particular from its president, Donald Trump. The message states that these threats represent a recapitulation of decades of U.S. hostility toward the free, socialist-oriented state since October 1962, as well as the United States’ attempt to launch an attack against Cuba. The statement notes that the blockade has intensified following the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife on January 3.

It likewise condemns the decision adopted by the US Treasure Department on May 7, 2026, to include the Cuban entities GAESA and MoaNickel S.A. in the Specially Designated Nationals List, being this the first coercive measure resulting from the order signed on May 1st.
