Widespread coverage in the Egyptian press of the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s statement rejecting the U.S. State Department’s report

Cairo, July 26, 2026. A dozen Egyptian media outlets published the July 21 statement from the Cuban Foreign Ministry in their online editions, in which the ministry rejects, in the strongest possible terms, the report released on July 20 by the U.S. State Department regarding Cuba’s alleged subversive influence against that country.

The vast majority of the articles published the statement in its entirety, which asserts that the report presented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio is a mediocre propaganda pamphlet intended to reinforce the false narrative that Cuba poses a threat to the United States—a pretext that the U.S. government uses to justify collective punishment and genocide against the Cuban people. It seeks, through the fabrication of accusatory narratives, to build consensus for a potential military aggression.
