Cairo, January 19, 2026. The Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram today criticized US threats against Cuba, following the aggression against Venezuela and the kidnapping of its president Nicolás Maduro.
For years, officials in Washington have predicted the imminent end of the Cuban revolutionary government since its victory in 1959, which has not happened and will not happen, journalist Kamal Gaballa said in an opinion piece.

Members of the Cuban State Mission in Egypt visited the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela this morning to sign the book of condolences opened in tribute to the heroes and martyrs of Venezuela and Cuba who gave their lives in defense of the sovereignty of that sister nation during the criminal attack and kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros and his partner, First Combatant Cilia Flores, on January 3.
Cairo, January 6, 2026. The Egyptian-Cuban Friendship Association (CEFA) today expressed its condolences and reaffirmed its solidarity with the Caribbean island following the death of 32 combatants during the US aggression against Venezuela last Saturday.
We praise the heroism of the combatants who confronted the criminal US aggression during the unprecedented pirate operation to kidnap Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, said CEFA head Kamal Gaballa in a message sent to the Cuban ambassador in Cairo.
Cairo, January 4, 2026. The Egyptian websites of the newspapers Al Safir, the Hispanic-Arab League, El Dameer, and Al Ameltanmya echoed the Revolutionary Government's Declaration, which strongly condemns the recent aggression by the United States against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the illegal kidnapping of that country's Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
In the Declaration, the Revolutionary Government reaffirmed its absolute support and solidarity with the sister Bolivarian Republic and its government, while supporting the speech by Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and her demand that the US government provide proof of life for constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros and Cilia Flores.
Cairo, December 30, 2025. The President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdelfattah Al Sisi, sent a message of congratulations to his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
At the Cuban Embassy in Cairo, Ambassador Alexander Pellicer received the Chamberlain of the Presidency, General Mohamed Negm, who conveyed the congratulations to the Cuban government and people. He also conveyed his wishes for well-being and prosperity for the Cuban people in the new year.
